about

I wrote this instrumental when I returned from the Ukraine in 2001. The inspiration for it came after hanging out with Tartars (AKA Tatars) Autonomous Republic of Crimea on the Black Sea. The Tartars are direct descendants of Genghis Khan's Mongolian horde from the steppes. Check out music by the great Crimean Tartar guitarist Enver Izmailov on youtube. The head for the tune was taken from a piece Canadian Jazz great Bob Erlandson wrote called Raccat. Enjoy
